Now, this site is not lawless. Even if you're a ruthless Black pirate bringing terror to to the skies, there are still a few basic codes of conduct we
require of you - Out of character at least! Failure to comply with these can get you suspended or even banned if you persist in ignoring/breaking them, so
please, don't break the rules...
1. Remember, characters have to be submitted and approved before they're allowed into the Roleplay. This may take a while to happen, so don't expect an immediate response, but a Member of staff should get to you within a day or two of the submission with, if not approval, a reccomendation of what you'll need to change about the character to get them approved.
2. Please use acceptable grammer and spelling in your application. We don't expect absolute perfection, but unreadable applications will not be accepted, nor will roleplay samples showing dire quality.
3. This is the world displayed in Skies of Arcadia. Therefore, all characters submitted must have some relation to the Skies of Arcadia world. A Nasrean Air pirate with a scar, however generic, is an acceptable character - A Vengeful Vampire Air pirate is NOT acceptable, neither is an Angel, Futuristic Alien or anything which is out of character for the Skies of Arcadia world.
4. Characters can only be in one part of the world at one time in a single topic. An accepted character is not allowed to appear in every single topic... if you want to join another thread, you'll have to create another character, or leave your current thread with a previous character.
5. You are not allowed to control any characters owned by another member. The characters are theirs, and only they know how their characters will react. An exception to this is if you get prior permission from the character's owner, but generally they and they alone are allowed to decide how their character acts.
6. But this does not mean that they can do anything. Your character is a character, not an all-powerful deity. Please, no god-moding, allow your character to fail when they would fail and loose when they would loose. A character who can do anything and everything without breaking a sweat is badly roleplayed at the best, and at worst a poor character.
7. In the same vein, no character has unlimited resources. Although we don't keep an official track of how much funding a character has, they have limitations. If your character is broke one day, they can't just go out the next day and purchase a Valuan Battleship...
8. No applying 'cannon' characters, please. All characters owned by Sega/Overworks are their characters, and NPCs in this roleplay. All characters you sumbit must be originals. They may be extensions on an existing theme, such as a Zivylin Bane or Valuan Ferratus, as these are considered to be classes of characters, and therefore contain a number of indivuduals which you can create your own history for and use in the roleplay. But we don't want any submissions for Vyse, Vize, Aika, Clara, Gordo or Pow. Be creative, make an original character!
9. In additon to that, please don't submit for any Silvites. The remaints of the Silver civilisation was all destroyed excepting Fina in the events of Skies of Arcadia, and so the appearence of another Silvite would not be explainable within the current history/setting.
10. You must roleplay in character (IC) unless the forum is in the "Out of Character" subcategory. The exception to this is out of character (OOC) posts, which must be marked as such at the top with the (OOC) marking in brackets. Try to avoid doing this very often...
11. Make youre RP posts into creative and and intelligent paragraphs. The *shoots gun* format is not acceptable, and will hopefully be weeded out in applications via the roleplay sample.
12. If you want another player to join your current roleplay, please don't just wait around on the offchance that someone will turn up. Use the RP meetup section, and ask for somone else to join your thread, or join up with an existing crew!
13. There is a minimum post length in place in ALL threads that involve Roleplay. We require at least four to six full sentences per post (number varying depending on length, but as this is the MINIMUM we would undersandably prefer more lines then this...).
14. Ghosts. Ghosts, Ghosts, Ghosts... NO. No Ghosts.
Perhaps Loqua induced delusion, perhaps moonstone-induced delirium, perhaps shadowy shapes in the distance though the fog who 'might' turn out to be some kind of Ixa'takan priest. But no Ghosts!
Ghrosts are DEFINITELY allowed, however. AS THEY ARE ANIMALS NOT GHOSTS.
